Owning a business requires a lot. There are more requirements to starting and maintaining a business today. An entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages a business undertaking and partaking a risk for the sake of profit. They also show improvement on a daily basis in how they serve customers, manage employees, and try hard to improve their operations. In other words, they should utilize the four crucial functions in management.
The first step is planning. Starting a business doesn’t happen overnight. Bill Gates, on the other hand, is a different story. He made it big overnight in 1979, when he created “Windows”, an interactive desktop interface. But entrepreneurs aren’t as fortunate as Bill Gates, so business owners has to plan. The first decision, an entrepreneur must make is what type of business he or she wants to start. The decision should be based on the amount of knowledge and skill that they have in the field that they are considering.
Current economic research denies the innate characteristics of the entrepreneur. Rather than attributing economic growth and innovation to personality traits, economists would rather advocate a form of economic determinism: if an aggressive personality dominated an industry, economists try to explain the characteristics of the industry that made aggression a successful strategy. Economic models are contrived to remove the personality from the entrepreneur, to make all entrepreneurial decisions predestined, given enough time. However, to deny Bill Gates’ or Steve Jobs’ role in economic history is equivalent to denying Hitler’s role in creating a Nazi Germany or Castro’s role in creating a Communist Cuba. Claiming that history or economics is deterministic is silly. Entrepreneurs are people who make decisions; their decisions need not fall out of dry economic models, just as no literary model could predict the words of Shakespeare and no historical model could predict the future. However, we must be systematic in our approach to identifying entrepreneurial characteristics and not fatuously assert that entrepreneurs drive economic change. Instead, we must link specific entrepreneurial tasks to specific entrepreneurial traits with the goal of understanding how these traits crucially affect the evolution of a business from a startup to Fortune 500 Company.
Statistics shows that the lowest averages of demand jobs are computer related occupations that typically requires at least bachelor’s degree as of 2004-2014. This means that there are only few that are interested in computer concern which is very opportunity to us IT students to have much motivation with our field. We should train ourselves to be an artist in our own ways that would make us ready to pass in a needle hole-a way to success. If I can pass through, good start of a new beginning of another challenge, otherwise, I need more discipline to myself and do it again until I’ll get it. What I mean is the PhilNITS (Philippine National Information Technology Standard) Examination; it’s like a board exam for IT people who strive long years of learning to operate computers and become developers of the systems and the webs with different languages used in programming, web making, many ways in networking and more, minor courses also molded us to be more aware to other things, although it is not our focus but really been made us to be, even if we don’t want to. I’m sure this would be a big help on the process through success and being an employer, not a job seeker. Working abroad is not the answer to uplift your career. It is the place where you are molded, and then it is also the place where you will vein your career. On my own thinking, I would probably loan to a bank that would sustain my knowledge to create an agency that renders computer related services to huge companies. Then later, as my business is on its way to grow, I will now hire intelligence persons to help me out and reach excellence in this business. I will look for a good attitude in working, the passion for this job, on how he/she handles everything when he/she will be my employee. Training would be effective for me to observe such applicants to see their great interest of the job they want to work with, a determination to learn more aside of their experiences and knowledge. As we go through, if God let me, I will build other branches to access other large companies that need our services, of course, another opportunity also to people who are jobless in this field. Then, later and later, our economy will climb up, community develops, and country will now be a phenomenon, to Asia, to all continents, or the whole world! Imagine, first, I help myself, then the people who are in need, then the economy, the community, then the country, later the world. This might be a history, and can be an inspiration to everyone.
Well, if I’m dreaming? I’d rather not woke up; this is the best dream I’ve ever had on my entire life. Dreaming of being an entrepreneur was never my in plan since when I was kid. Now, I’ve realized that things are just there, if you just have the passion on it then you can get it. Learning to love what you have is like keeping a mule, first it’s just a nothing, but as time passes by, demands are on it, its value became huge that you never thought it was, because we admit it or not, people used to find something that doesn’t existing with them anymore, although they have it before. Now we’re woke up, let’s make ourselves think that we are learning to help others someday, not the one who is begging for a help, or the one who is hoping for a future to drop by on his front. To sum up, let’s work on and think to be an employer someday, the one who is destined to change the community, which is now one of the poorest country in this century. Let’s make our image change, start it with yourself before other matters, it will just follow you. Being this kind of dream of mine is very impossible, with my grades almost make me down, with this institution that would probably make me crazy, I will not stop dreaming, I can do this, and we can do these IT students, they need us. “The world needs IT”.
