Personal Traits Test Reflection

We define traits to distinguish qualities or characteristics of a person. It is a readiness to think or act in a similar fashion in response to a variety of different stimuli or situations. People may differ as to their aspect of living and their personal intension in every privilege they encounter. In short, traits are continuous, degree and quantitative to people.
Personal traits are divided into four factors– physical, vital, mental and spiritual. The traits of awareness and insightfulness appears at the mental level; our various attitudes at the vital level; and our physical well being and strength at the physical level, it may be positive or negative response to environment or to socialization with other people, and it defines the inner and outer orientation of one’s self; psychologically and socially.
There are so many ways in order to develop your personal traits. Hidden knowledge may immerge that will arise your confidence and motivation to different skills you’re not interested with since then. The fundamental and spiritual capacities enable achievement, fulfillment, and personal growth, and also the negative capacities retard achievement and personal growth.
Personal traits have different components or fields that contain kinds of skills which is the key of economic development in a certain place, one is the entrepreneurial skills. We are convinced that the one who is the brain of the economy are the capitalists and entrepreneurs; the importers and exporters of different products from one place to another; the one who trades and indorses the beauty and quality of a product and view which may help to increase more tourists and investors that lead to an industrialized country.
We can say that we have entrepreneurial skill in our own ways but we may not know how poor we are in each aspect of this field. We can determine these personal traits by taking first a test that will let you know where to adjust and where to remain steady because there is a wide range of skills to be seen to become a certified entrepreneur.
I took this test required by our professor in order to know what and how capable we are in the field of entrepreneurship. I’ve got the score of 42 out of 60 items that resulted to ‘somewhat an entrepreneur’. I felt glad on that moment because I am in the average level to become an entrepreneur. As I remember my previous examination, the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE), I’ve got poor score in my entrepreneurial skills, I felt sad to think that I cannot be an entrepreneur someday instead my exam evaluation is I am an artistic type and good in social field. Then, I ask myself, how could I use these skills to make money with poor entrepreneurial skill? I didn’t mind that thought because it could make my head ache. Until then, I was enrolled in this prestigious institution where I was able to help myself in financial problem. The test may contain the management skills that will define the ability to manage your time and people successfully; communication skills that will define your ability to sell your ideas and persuade others; the ability to work both as part of a team and independently; to be able to plan, coordinate and organize effectively; financial literacy that will identify what are you in keeping, balancing and spending money wisely; could be able to research markets, suppliers, customers and the managing the competition among other establishments and merchandises; by being a self-disciplined, adaptable to other opinions and willing to learn from mistakes and failure; to have an innovation to thinking and creativeness; can handle multi-tasking; responsible in making decisions; to work under pressure; having perseverance; competent; willing to take the risk which means who can still stand up even if you encounter failure; and can make networks or contacts that will invest and help the business to grow. These skills are useful to internal entrepreneurs and would also benefit all employees within a business and so are useful for graduates to have. As I’ve known, many of these skills, such as communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, are already promoted within existing degrees. In addition to business related skills are, being able to draw up a business plan for a new venture, able to market and sell a new product or idea, financial skills, such as book-keeping and calculating tax, awareness of intellectual property and possibly patent law, will be of use to entrepreneurs.
Developing entrepreneurial skill is important to anyone who plans and preparing a business for a new or potential enterprise to remember that they should not just be looking at those skills which are needed right at this moment, but also those which will be required as the business starts to expand. As a rule of thumb, the smaller the business, the wider the range of skills that the owner-manager will need to operate the business, particularly in the early stages of its development. It is important therefore, to draw up a skills profile for the business identifying the diverse range of expertise required. You should have the knowledge and expertise of the goods or services which you plan to provide, and how the customers will make use of them. From the customer’s perspective, the supplier is the specialist who is expected to answer all of the awkward questions. To enable you to research your market, to design marketing plan to promote and distribute your goods or services. Many owner-managers set up in business in an area, with which they are already familiar, and so have some basic knowledge of their market, but there is still a need to maintain objectivity, particularly when estimating market share and sales volumes. We know that sales skills often assumed to be the same as marketing skills, but there is a distinct difference. You may have an excellent product, and a market ripe to take it, but you still need the skills to persuade your customers or your distributors that it is your product they should be using or retailing, rather than one supplied by a competitor. In the early stages of developing your business, you may not be able to afford to pay a full-time sales person and may have to do the job yourself. You must also have the ability to plan and organize yourself and your business, to ensure that your staff, resources, materials, finished goods, etc., are in the right place at the right time. Careful planning and attention to detail enables you to make the most productive use of time and resources, and to avoid costly waste. In decision making, have the facility to analyze problems, identify and evaluate options, and to make objective and rational decisions, including how they will be made to work effectively. Moreover, financial skills is keeping a day-to-day accounts is not necessarily the best to use of the owner-manager’s time, as a part-time bookkeeper or accountant would probably be much more cost effective. However, it is still important for the owner to be able to understand the accounting procedures. In particular, it is essential to have a basic understanding of budgetary planning and control, in order to keep the business on-track, and to spot any potential problems. There may also be a need for the owner to be involved in credit control and debt collection. On the other hand, a customer service skill is not just the case of keeping the customers satisfied by providing a consistently high standard of service. For small firms one of the biggest headaches in dealing with customers is debt collection, and persuading your customers to pay their bills on time without the risk of offending them or losing their business. In your employee’s side, I think it’s better to supervise, delegate work, train and motivate staff to get the best out of them. The importance of this is often underestimated, and for new owner-managers who have never previously been involved with managing staff. One of the hardest aspects is that of delegation – trusting the staff to get on with their own jobs without constant close scrutiny, so that the owner can get on with the job of running the business. All of these are helpful to have a successful business by being this kind of character. (download-it.org)
According to Elizabeth Miranda, one definition of the term ‘entrepreneurial skills’ comes from Steve Jobs, the US computer engineer and industrialist who is noted as saying, “I am convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from non-successful ones is pure perseverance”. Through this thought, it’s like a lighting that passes in my mind which opened my eyes wider to have more motivation and hard work in this course that I am taking right now - specifically, the Technopreneurship that molds us to be competent in many ways of planning a business, being a good entrepreneur, showing us the techno ventures – the Human resources who are the research thinker, idea generator, innovator, developer-implementer, technical people, scanner and marketing people and the financer; the Environment which are the science parks, incubation centers, academic institutions, R&D centers, having internet access, communication and other support services, geographic accessibility, and the venture mentoring services; the Laws and policies which are the Intellectual Property Rights Office , Technology Licensing Office that facilitates commercialization of inventions, and legal services; and the Financial resources who are the venture capitalists and investors, business sector, funding agencies, and the financial services; which quoted as ‘HELF’ that really helps us to learn more with this ecosystem. It revealed some basic facts that business start from ideas, but ideas alone do not make a business; customers do not buy ideas, they buy products and services which is definitely right; customers pay the price, value is what they get; and a marketable product may not result a viable business. Work now is no limit of age, even the months old baby already earn money! We can see this basis in advertisements and shows, right? So, we can conclude that anyone has the capacity in a business, in any ways, in any styles, etc. our physical may help, the passion, ideas, motivation and perseverance is typically the puzzle parts to form an object that may lead you to success and be glad to face the crowd, yell to everyone, and shout out your name to the world that you’re not just good, but great.
The implication of using this personal traits test approach is you can get to have an understanding of what sort of personality underpins a certain type of behavior, as well as the more general workings of personality. It really determines of whom you are and what are you within a business just what like I’ve realized after I took it. It reminds you yourself each of the items that contains the options of what are you. You will know yourself better than what you already know before this. Once you get either of these results by scores – (1-25) less entrepreneur; (26-45) somewhat an entrepreneur; (46-above) or very entrepreneur. When you got the lowest score, it’s time for you to learn most of the characteristics above which I mentioned earlier, if you get the average score, well, you should still learn more characteristics being a good entrepreneur, lastly, if you will get the excellent score, good for you because you have the knowledge and skill to be an entrepreneur, the thing you will do is to keep it and enhance it more. However, cheating is not allowed in this test, if so, you are also cheating yourself. This is a test to yourself capacity, this is not time for academic tolerance. Just enjoy answering and don’t fool and lie to yourself, if you know yourself better, it will be easy for you to develop what are the dos and don’ts. Be motivated, be wise and open minded to all aspects you encounter, to become a great entrepreneur.
